BONFIRE Intensive

13 young people + 9 international artists + a village in denmark + a longing for a better world ....

The BONFIRE Intensive was a creative experiment in sacred activism for people aged 22-30 to come together in new and meaningful ways …

In August 2024 a group of 13 people from Belarus, Belgium, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, Lithuania, Netherlands, Romania, South Africa and Sweden gathered in Vinderup, Denmark.

Participants went through an intensive, collective process of training, experimentation, creation and reflection. Working with a team of artistic mentors and the local neighbourhood, participants created their own BONFIRES : 13 artistic interventions for meaningful human meetings.

These interventions were shared with teenagers at Vinderup Realskole and the local Vinderup community. They were also shown at the festival, Kulturmødet på Mors as part of UngKult camp.

‘I learned that, in the face of the world’s challenges, this way of being together can change desperation to hope, action, vibrant aliveness, appreciation, thankfulness and hands-on courage to embrace all that comes.’

‘I discovered a newfound trust in humanity, knowing that someone somewhere is doing these kinds of experiences. And it inspires me to do the same.’
